Description: The project was aimed at supporting the Ukrainian State Commission for the Regulation of the Financial Services Market, and other Ukrainian institutions, in creating the regulations and organization of an effective system of supervision to guarantee the safety of the insurance market. The program focused on areas selected by the beneficiaries as those most urgently requiring reform and new regulations in the insurance regulatory system. The Polish experience acted as a model in the regulation of the Ukrainian insurance market. In August 2005, the training of Ukrainian insurance supervision employees was completed with a study visit to the State Commission for the Supervision of Insurance and Pension Funds and Polish insurance companies.
