Description: Małgorzata Jakubiak and Rafał Antczak assessed the impact of EU accession on the Polish external balance, as well as the direction and amount of trade and capital flows between Poland and the rest of the world. Examining changes in the balance of payments structure determined by the accession allowed the researchers to separate and describe the real effects of accession from those which were independent of this process.
