Description of a project:  As part of a project entitled Comparative Growth-Poverty Study in Poland and Russia, experts carried out comparative analyses of the linkage between economic growth and the rise in poverty, determining institutional factors and economic policy. The comparison was made between Poland in 1994-1998 and Russia between 1999 and 2002.  Results of the study were published in 2004 in a publication entitled Post-Adaptation Growth Recovery in Poland and Russia - Similarities and Differences (no. 280 in the Studies and Analyses Series), and also used in the preparation of a conference entitled Scaling Up Poverty Reduction Programs for Country-wide Results, organized in cooperation with the GDN in Shanghai in May 2004.
