Description:

The aim of the project is to investigate the scope of the permanent and temporary emigration of young Polish researchers, its determinants, research activities of Poles abroad, as well as their future plans (especially conditions under which they consider going back to Poland).

The project consists of two components: analysis of the migration scope and research of both its structure and reasons for migration. The first part should help to estimate the size of the population of Polish researchers living abroad to specify the directions of researcher's migration according to research areas, using Polish and foreign data. The second part of the project should concentrate on the analysis of the migration, especially through the description of researchers' destinies and their motivations. Issues surrounding re-immigration will be also taken into consideration.
