Description:

The project aims at providing insights into the status of internationalisation of research policies in Europe and at setting up a monitoring system to assess the evolutions of national R&D policies and strategies towards the European Research Area (ERA) based on 4 subjects.  Once implemented within ERAWATCH, the ERA Monitoring System will provide complete information on: the degree of openness of national R&D policies; specific programmes and instruments used to promote the intra-European dimension of research activities; and bottom-up initiatives from research actors that contribute to the internationalisation of the European research landscape.  The study report will draw a clearer picture of the situation in the 7 countries covered by the project as per the 4 subjects above in order to provide a better understanding of European research and R&D policies.   The model countries are: the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Finland and Poland.
